The Town of Whitecourt currently has casual positions available with Whitecourt Transit. These positions vary and require early morning, evening, daytime, and weekend shifts, with rotating schedules. 

As a Whitecourt Transit Driver you will operate a Whitecourt Transit vehicle with an established route and time schedule with a varying number of stops along the way. Drivers are responsible for collecting fares, responding to customer inquiries concerning transit information, and ensuring the safety of all customers. This position requires attentiveness, good judgment, safe driving habits, exceptional customer service, and an ability to deal with a variety of passengers. 

 Successful applicants will have:
• Class 2 driver's licence;
• Clean driving record and experience driving bus;
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification;
• Air brakes endorsement is an asset. 

Successful candidates must enjoy working with the public, must have above average inter-personal communications skills, and be able to maintain records and statistics on ridership. Prior to being hired, a vulnerable sector record check, intervention check, and clean drivers’ abstract must be submitted and deemed acceptable to the Employer.

The Allan & Jean Millar Centre is a recreation facility that includes a fieldhouse, aquatic center, fitness centre, track, child play and mind areas, and meeting spaces. Our organization has an opening at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre for a permanent full-time Guest Services Associate II position. This position is comprised of a rotating schedule of evening and morning shifts for an average of 37.5 hours per week. The rotation typically includes four early morning shifts (5:15am-1:45pm), two days off, and four evening shifts (1:15pm-10:15pm).  Weekend shifts are required including holidays if available.
 
The Guest Services Associate II is responsible for selling and processing memberships, providing front line customer service, inventory control, overseeing special events, supervision of facility staff during their shift, and completing other related administration duties. 
 
Key Duties: 
 
 Work as a member of the Allan & Jean Millar Centre team to promote and support exceptional guest experiences. 
 Uphold Allan & Jean Millar Centre policies and procedures, ensuring safe practices. 
 Greet guests with the goal of creating a welcoming atmosphere. 
 Provide information and orientations for new or returning guests. 
 Provide support and leadership for other Allan & Jean Millar Centre team members.  
 
Qualifications: 
 A dynamic and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal, diplomacy and communication skills. 
 Must be 18 years or older. 
 Positive and encouraging attitude. 
 Self-motivated and takes pride in a clean and organized workspace. 
 Ability to demonstrate competent computer skills and cash handling experience is a requirement. 
  Security clearance. 
 First Aid and CPR; training available for successful candidate. 
 Must have supervision experience. 
 Education/courses in customer service and/or the recreation field is an asset.

This is a contract position for the duration of approximately one year. The position reports to the Manager Facilities.

Key duties will include:
• Manage and track energy-saving projects.
• Analyze energy performance using monitoring equipment and statistical analysis.
• Develop overall continuous improvement and/or energy management plans. 
• Collect, organize, and analyze energy data to identify opportunities for improvement. 
• Motivate, coach, and train, facility management personnel and teams on energy efficiency best practices. 
• Write technical reports for both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Make procedural and policy recommendations based on information obtained.
• Perform financial, operational, and environmental analysis of energy-related projects. 


Qualifications include:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.  
• Must have demonstrated technical and applied knowledge on climate change and/or energy management.
• Professional designation such as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Practitioner in Energy Management Systems (CP EnMS), or equivalent are considered assets.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, chemical, commercial, industrial, energy efficiency, project management (with an energy focus), facility engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with systems such as HVAC, lighting, chillers and refrigeration, motors, variable frequency drives, compressed air, building envelope, renewable energy, and process equipment. 
• Proficiency in energy modeling software and ability to use it effectively (e.g., RETScreen, GRITS, Energy Star Portfolio Manager). 
• Knowledge of energy management systems, greenhouse gas inventories, and climate change initiatives.
