Whitecourt Town Council Update

Posted on:

Council has approved Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw 1580, and dog owners in Whitecourt are no longer required to purchase an annual dog licence.  Under the new bylaw, those who own dogs and cats will be required to have their pets wear a visible identification tag, that includes the owner’s current phone number, on a collar or harness when the pet is off property.  Learn more at www.whitecourt.ca/your-town/bylaws-policies.

ISL Engineering and Land Services has been contracted to complete a Transportation Master Plan for Whitecourt.  The Plan will be developed to ensure the local transportation network keeps pace with growth, and will provide a strategy for development of roadway systems to serve future growth of the community.

Development of the 2025 Budget is underway, and Council has scheduled a Special Meeting on December 11, 2024 at 4pm to discuss the interim budget.

Council has approved a request from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 44 to use the Allan & Jean Millar Centre to host a Remembrance Day service.

Council will host a Council Committee Appreciation Reception on November 14 for all members that serve on municipal boards and committees.
