Whitecourt Accepting Evacuees from Fox Creek
Posted on:Whitecourt is opening the Allan & Jean Millar Centre for evacuees from the Town of Fox Creek due to wildfires. Residents and businesses will notice an influx of people into town. All evacuees, whether staying in Whitecourt or finding accommodation elsewhere, must register with the Town of Whitecourt, either by attending in person at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre at 58 Sunset Boulevard, or by calling 780.778.3637. There is no risk to Whitecourt at this time.
Make sure you monitor social media sites (www.whitecourt.ca) or the Whitecourt Facebook page for updates. You can also download the Alberta Wildfire app, or visit alberta.wildfire.ca for more information. If you see smoke or flame in the forest call 310-FIRE(3473).
Please note that residents from Yellowhead and Lac Ste. Anne Counties should contact their respective community for information on evacuation.
