Whitecourt Wildfire Update - May 14, 2023
Posted on:The fire rating throughout Alberta is extreme, and a provincial state of emergency remains in place.
A fire ban remains in effect for Whitecourt and within the Woodlands Forest Area. For further details click here.
Community members should continue to be alert during these unusually hot and dry conditions. If you see smoke or fire, please call 9-1-1 so that our crews can quickly assess and respond to it.
Residents are encouraged to download the Alberta Emergency Alert app in order to receive emergency notices; and should be prepared for emergencies by making an emergency plan and kit. Checklists and other tips can be found at www.alberta.ca/emergency-preparedness.aspx.
