Whitecourt Town Council Update - November 29, 2023
Posted on:Whitecourt is making it easier for community members to apply for a building permit. Starting January 1, 2024, Whitecourt will work directly with Safety Codes Agencies to create a “one-stop shop” for development and building permits. The change will create a single point of contact for applications, and a more coordinated approach to the permitting process. This move has been made as part of Whitecourt’s commitment to reduce red tape. Further information on the new process will be posted on our website for the January launch.
Whitecourt has provided support to Woodlands County for its grant application to fund improvements at the Whitecourt Airport. The County will be applying to the Community Airport Program for runway paving and electrical rehabilitation.
Whitecourt has granted approval to the Soaring Eagle Support Society for use of the Town fire pit on February 24, 2024 for its “Coldest Night of the Year” event.
Councillor Paul Chauvet will serve as Deputy Mayor from January 1 to March 31, 2024.
